News Update

What an amazing week.....

As Summer School Online 2020 draws to a close we lift up our hands in praise and thanksgiving to our almighty God. It would not have been possible without the hard work and support from a lot of people, too many to mention and would not want to risk missing any names. We lift our hands in praise and with thanksgiving to God who is our strength, to Him be all the Glory.

During the week we were also able to hold our Annual General Meeting  via Zoom and we are so pleased to welcome three new Core Team Members.

Join us in welcoming:

Dawn Lynch - Dawn has been involved for two years and we have seen first hand the wonderful skills she has to offer, through her experience of teaching BSL and Deaf awareness, as a mother to three beautiful children, and in the role as part of the Leadership team within Open Hands. She is a very capable, friendly and caring person and will make a great addition to the team.

Bex Walls - Bex is a trainee interpreter and quickly gaining experience of interpreting in Christian Settings. She is an active team member interpreting in church and on the rota to interpret a daily devotion once a week. She interpreted at our Derby workshop and she would like to be involved in workshops in the future; she was one of our interns for Summer School.

Mary Jayne Russell de Clifford - Mary Jayne has contributed to our understanding of BSL creative singing and translation.  We have used her in our worship teams at events like New Wine and she made a significant impact with her skills. She also participated as a presenter at our 2018 Summer School and we look forward to her being involved in future events.

The Core Team now consists of 45 wonderful people each offering their various skills and gifts which are very much valued. Thank you!
