<body> <ol> <h1>Signs of God</h1> <h3>Are you a person who needs to use Sign Language in a Christian context?   Perhaps you are a Sign Language Interpreter, or Communicator, or maybe you work as a Chaplain or Minister with Deaf People. </h3> </ol> <p><strong><em>Signs of God</em></strong> may be able to help you.</p> <p>We aim to explore the way we can translate and interpret and express the religious language we use in Church in British Sign Language. We do that by a variety of training opportunities. Why not visit the <a href="training.htm">training</a> page and discover the training that suits your needs?</p> <h1><font size="4"><i>Signs of God</i> Workshops</font></h1> <h3>The language we use in the workshops is British Sign Language.  This means that the language we use for teaching, discussion, group work - even meal breaks - is BSL. That's why we suggest you need a minimum of CACDP stage II to make the best use of the information.</h3> <p>We use consultants in the workshops.  One will always be a native BSL user with teaching skills.  Others may be consultants in theology, liturgy or Biblical studies.   Many of our consultants give their time freely.  That's how we keep our costs low!</p> <p>People who attend our workshops often remark that they learn as much about the Bible, Theology and Liturgy as they do about BSL.</p> <h2><font color="#ee0000" size="4">Our other activities</font></h2> <h2><font color="#ee0000">Day Workshops<br> </font>These may be on a specific subject such as signed songs and hymns, or for a specific group such as a church or regional group. They may be appropriate for one level of signing skill, or open to all. Tell us what you need!</h2> <h2><font color="#ee0000">Professional Training<br> </font>We are happy to design training to meet the needs of professional interpreters working regularly or occasionally in Christian Settings. Contact us for information.</h2> <h2><font color="#ee0000">The Christian Interpreters' Network<br> </font>We maintain and make available, information about people who are working in the field of Christian Interpreting and are, themselves, Christian. Members must hold a minimum of CACDP Stage III/NVQ Level 3 or an accepted equivalent qualification.
